The burger was tasty and the fried jalapeños added just the right mild kick. The afternoon the three of us were present, we tried their California Salad (iceberg and romaine, smoked chicken, roasted corn, black beans, 3 cheese blend, pico de gallo, smoked onion BBQ sauce & cilantro ranch), beef brisket quesadilla with guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo and I had the Carne Queso Burger (quarter pound angus beef patty, topped with chili con carne, cowboy queso & fried jalapeños, served on a fresh vanilla bun). Check their website for a year round schedule of specials, happy hours, festivals, concerts, special events and weekly entertainment options. They also have two Bootleg stages for live music, a popular DJ video dance lounge, an expansive patio surrounded by a bamboo forest housed in a historically renovated property. They feature a fresh Mex & Smoked Meats menu serving lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. week (11 AM to 3 AM), with late night dining until 2 AM. The venue has nightly entertainment, a broadly stocked bar, craft beers and cocktails. MoreĪtomic Cowboy, opened in 2005, was an original part of the revitalization of an underserved neighborhood that has now become an exciting entertainment district known as The Grove. All in all the experience was not very good and not sure if it was because it was the Saturday before valentines day or just an off day. The fish tasted dirty and was over done in some parts. My wife carne acada taco was good but the fish taco was horrid. The queso was not at all spicy and the chips were nothing special. The meat was extremely tough with grissly. We started with an appetizer of the guacamole which could be the blandest thing I have ever tasted, a little garlic would help. I ordered the beef brisket ncahos, my wife order the fish tacos and carne acada tacos and my daughter got the cheeseburger burrito. I was going to try the house sangria but I was fearful it would be just as bad so I opted for a beer which I knew couldn't be messed with. I do not think there was a drop of tequila in my drink. This margarita could be the worst I have had in 21 years. For $8.00 I would expect a little bigger margarita but if they are great margaritas i don't mind paying for them. My wife and I both ordered top shelf margarita. We were promptly greater by our server and he took our drink order pretty quickly. We sat on the sit bar side and not the stage side. The Atomic Cowboy does have a good feel to it when you walk. My family and I eat at a lot of Tex/Mex restaurants and were looking forward to the Atomic Cowboy because we had heard so many great things about their venue and food.
